Does Freehand 10 work natively in Snow Leopard (10.6)

Postby LnkCld » Thu Nov 07, 2013 3:17 pm

I've been using the last non-intel mac, a G5 2.7Ghz on 1.58 (Leopard) to run Freehand 10. I'm looking to upgrade to a newer computer and I want to know if Freehand 10 will work natively on 10.6 (Snow Leopard).

My plan is to either build a hackintosh computer or buy a newer intel mac.

I prefer Freehand 10 over Freehand MX.

Hi,

If you can find a new Mac with 10.6.x then yes, it will run via Rosetta, not natively. There are lots of posts about this so best search this forum for more details. I have a Macbook Pro, running 10.6.8, via Rosetta, FH runs well no issues but there are some niggles. See my other post for woes.... :| Overall, for one off jobs you'll be fine but newer OS' don't come with Rosetta so you wont be able to emulate Freehand. Best 'o luck :)
