Opentype Fonts in FreeHand MX

Postby Handsfree » Fri Jun 14, 2013 3:18 pm

I was wondering if anyone had found a workaround in Freehand MX (other Freehand versions would have same problem) for using Opentype Fonts on projects exporting to PDF. My particular problem is packaging, some fonts simply refuse to embed so I end up duplicating the file and converting all fonts to outlines. A fiddly process if you have to proof project several times. One option I considered was converting the font to TrueType or Type 1 (using Extensis FontDoctor) but that fails to convert OpenType.

Suggestions please!

I usually flatten my pages before I export to PDF. Using modify/convert to image @ 300. I haven't ever had very good luck exporting PDFs out of Freehand. I don't know if that helps but if you are just sending proofs it might work.
